MV Agusta Reparto Corse Team Win at Phillip Island!

MV Agusta Supersport duo Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti made a convincing first and second place respectively in the seasons first WSS round at Phillip Island on the F3 675. The two riders battled against each other in the opening laps before setting the pace and putting distance to the pack behind them, Zanetti trying again in the closing laps to take the lead. But it was former BSB champion Cluzel who showed his experience, keeping out front until the chequered flag and beating his team mate, who showed remarkable talent for his first ride onboard the F3.

In addition, Team Race Department ATK25 also put together a solid race with privateer rider Alex Baldolini finishing 7th place on board the MV Agusta F3 in the World Supersport class.

WSBK race two was the most spectacular for the day with a number of tight battles and lead changes before Haslan jumped Rea at the last moment to the finish line. Whilst back in the field the Reparto Corse Team were delighted with Leon Camier’s performance in his first ride on the all-new F4 RC after he secured 10th in race one and 8th in race two.

MV Agusta Reparto Corse Team now leave Australia leading the WSS championship with both riders at the top and for WSBK Leon Camier placing 7th in the championship points. With such great results so early on in the season with new riders and motorcycles, the team feel confident and driven to see further improvements in the upcoming rounds.

Whilst MV Agusta enjoyed a great weekend of racing, the launch of the new Brutale 800 Dragster and Stradale 800 at the World Superbike Expo was equally special. The new models drew large crowds and fans that were treated with a visit to the expo stand by the Reparto Corse riders, who took time out to meet fans and sign autographs. A lucky few were also given the chance to visit the MV Agusta pit garage, whilst special guest MV Agusta Australia and avid fan, internationally recognised DJ Carl Cox was there to show his support on grid.

2015 looks set to be big for MV Agusta which will continue to celebrate its 70th anniversary and with it’s current form in WSBK and WSS, it is also likely to be celebrating a victorious one.
